Procter & Gamble Breaks Ground on $500M West Virginia Plant
By JONATHAN MATTISE, ASSOCIATED PRESS CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Sep 18, 2015, 6:59 PM ET
Procter & Gamble broke ground Friday on a $500 million plant that will improve its access to East Coast customers and create hundreds of jobs as one of the largest economic development projects in West Virginia history.
The Cincinnati-based consumer-goods company said the manufacturing hub near Martinsburg in the state's Eastern Panhandle is eventually expected to employ 700 full-time workers. The company said new site is within a day's travel of nearly 80 percent of consumers in the eastern United States. The site is 80 miles from Washington, D.C.; 100 miles from Baltimore and 265 miles from New York City.
Some 1,000 temporary construction jobs will become available as construction begins next month, leading up to the 2017 opening of the plant — only the second built by Procter & Gamble in the U.S. since 1971. For full-time plant workers, the company will start taking applications on Oct. 1, begin hiring next summer and ramp up to 300 employees in 2017. The rest are expected to join by 2019.
The Eastern Panhandle, unlike most of West Virginia, continues to grow. The region generally boasts a younger and better-educated workforce. "If you think about Martinsburg, you have Shenandoah Valley National Park, you have Washington, D.C., Baltimore, you have Harrisburg (Pennsylvania) just up the interstate," said Procter & Gamble spokesman Jeff LeRoy. "It's just a very good community for living and raising a family."

Mr Hunter Wilson served as the Seller's Agent for the property we were interested in. We found Mr Wilson to be very knowledgable and skilled in his profession. He was easy to reach and willing to answer all our questions. He was very proactive and paved the way for both parties to close the deal successfully. He also assisted us in finding very suitable financing options. If you are looking for a "No Nonsense and Professional" service we would highly recommend Mr Wilson and his staff.

Hunter Wilson and staff provided the right level of professional service we needed to make our important purchase happen. Hunter focused on understanding what we were looking for and made good recommendations to help us find it; and then arranged financing options that were highly competitive. Hillcrest Realty made every aspect of the search and purchase process quick, painless, and dare I say, pleasant. We would definitely recommend Hunter to our best friends.

Hunter Wilson was highly recommended to us by a good friend. I can't say enough good things about his knowledge, professionalism, and his commitment to getting the job done. He priced our property higher than what we would have settled for, and he was right! From the moment we shook hands he was "on it". He pushed the property, he pushed us to provide the information he needed to put our property in it's best light, and he pushed the sale to a close when he had found the right buyer. He didn't just take our listing put it on the shelf in hopes that someone would come along and ask for it. He aggressively pursued selling our property and "followed through" and "followed through" till he sold our property. On top of selling our property at a price we love, he turned out to a real nice guy on top of it . . . In case you missed our enthusiasm for Hunter as our real estate broker . . . let me say in no uncertain terms, we would recommend him to anyone interested in buying or selling property. . . . len frenkil
